In BC, a licensed embalmer has to complete at least six hours of approved embalming continuing education every two years. With this in mind the BCFC has engaged Jessica Major, CFSP, who works as a Preparation Room Supervisor at the Vancouver Personal Care Centre. Jessica has prepared a 60 minute webinar that provides details on innovative, new takes on older embalming practices.
In these times, many embalmers may have limited opportunities to practice their craft. This webinar provides participants the opportunity to learn from an experienced specialist working in SCI’s central embalming facility in the Lower Mainland.
Areas of focus will include:
- Pressure and Rate of Flow
- Embalming decomposed decedents
- Edema and secondary dilution
BCFA has requested accreditation of this continuing education program. Once approved, it is anticipated this webinar will qualify for one hour of continuing education credit for embalmers.
