The BC Funeral Association Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Woodland to the position of Executive Director. Alan has worked with many membership-based organizations to help them strengthen their operations and advance their missions, and the BCFA is delighted to welcome him to the team.

Over the last ten years, Alan has worked for registered charities – both as a staff member and as a board director – to support organizations with strategy, operations and fundraising. Earlier, Alan was the leader of a small industry trade association focused on technology innovation, environmental impact and social change.

Working with the Apprenticeship and Education Committee will be an area of focus for Alan in his first months with BCFA. “I am interested to see how graduates of the apprenticeship program develop in their careers and take on leadership roles in the profession,” said Alan.

“I’m also looking forward to connecting with people and building the kind of relationships that make an association actually work for its members.”
