Working in providing a service in our community, our Cemetery Services team is looking for Temporary Full-Time skilled individuals that will be involved in a variety of general landscape maintenance tasks and assisting with interment activities in the City’s three municipal cemeteries.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Union – CUPE Local 402 – Temporary Full-Time

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Temporary Full-Time, Cemetery Parks Labourer, you will be working in a team environment to provide general maintenance in a cemetery setting. Requirements of this position, that you demonstrate attention to detail, completing in tasks in all weather conditions, that involves considerable physical strength, stamina and coordination. Possess excellent teamwork skills and ability to communicate effectively, particularly when dealing with sensitive situations.

• General Park maintenance and horticulture work
• Demonstrate safe work practices.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Completion of Grade 12. Some relevant experience and training.
• Have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• Have relevant training and experience performing manual labour.
• Related education and maintenance experience are considered assets.
• Be able to complete work of a heavy manual outdoor work in all types of weather conditions.
• Hands-on experience with related tools and equipment is preferred.

OTHER INFORMATION
• Pay Grade: Schedule D
• Hourly Rate: $29.89 (2024 Rate)
• Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check and submittal of a Drivers abstract.
