Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel & Crematorium is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director and Embalmer who is also qualified or willing to be trained as a Crematorium Operator.

Full time: varying shifts on a Tuesday – Saturday schedule
Part time: varying shifts on a Thursday-Saturday schedule

This unique position encompasses many aspects of funeral service including arranging, embalming / decedent care and coverage in the crematorium. The ideal candidate will be dual licensed and possess a deep understanding, love, and respect for all families’ needs but with a primary focus on direct cremation arrangements.

Funeral Director and Embalmer Duties:
 Provide compassionate guidance throughout the arrangement process.
 Coordinate and ensure necessary legal documentation is completed accurately and in
compliance with regulations.
 Assit on visitations and services as needed.
 Perform embalming, dressing, and other decedent care with sensitivity and respect.
 Maintain embalming room equipment and cleanliness.
Crematorium Operator Duties:
 Operate cremation equipment following policy and procedures.
 Maintain accurate cremation records and follow proper identification procedures.
 Perform routine maintenance and cleanliness of crematory equipment.
 Ensure respectful handling and processing of cremated remains.
Requirements:
 BC Funeral Director and Embalmer License or 2 nd year Dual Apprentice License.
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills
 High level of professionalism, discretion, empathy, and passion
 Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team
 BC Driver’s license is an asset, but not a requirement.
 Frequent sitting or standing for continuous periods of time.
 Physically able to push and pull upwards of 180 lbs on flat and inclined flooring or
ramps.
